Hi, I’m Poppy.
I’m an artist based in London, but I grew up in Stoke-on-Trent. My art journey began in July 2022, when I started as a tattoo apprentice in South London. Since then, I’ve completely fallen in love with the craft of tattooing. Getting to collaborate with clients and create unique, lifelong pieces of art for them is a process I will forever love, and one I hope to continue for many years to come.
As time has passed, my love for creating has expanded into new mediums. Learning to oil paint felt like a real turning point for me. My Grandad was a painter, and my Nan’s house has always been lined with his landscapes, from country hills to cityscapes. I spent my childhood admiring them, and today they inspire my own practice.
Much like tattooing, I believe mastering the techniques and skills of oil painting will be a rewarding, lifelong effort. Whether on skin or canvas, I’m so excited about what is to come. I love colour, fun and whimsy, and I really hope that shows in my work
I am truly here for the girls and the gays. I’m inspired by nothing quite as much as the women around me. Every woman is a force of nature, and that will always be a theme in my life and my art. Girlhood is at the root of everything — and is, in general, the point!
My girlfriend is really my muse. She has shown me the softness that everyone in this life deserves and has taught me so much about love.
I’m also endlessly in awe of my beautiful cat (Noof). He will undoubtedly continue to find his way into my work (and my content!) because, quite frankly, I’m obsessed with him.
More than anything, I reeeally hope to connect with a community out there somewhere. I want Heaven Sent by Poppy to be a little home for people who love art, colour, creativity, girlhood and beautiful things made with care.
